The Winnebago Child and Family Services provides culturally appropriate services focused on successful safety, well-being, and permanency outcomes for children and families. To achieve this vision, CFS engages community members so that they may take positive initiative in supporting one another with respect by living with traditional values and teachings of the Winnebago/HoChunk culture. The goal of the Winnebago tribe is to ensure families have access to community-based, culturally appropriate services. The tribe is federally recognized and organized under the 1934 Indian Reorganization Act. The 1936 constitution and bylaws were amended in 1968. The Tribal Council is composed of a chairperson, vice chairperson, secretary, treasurer, and five other members.
